We've Come This Far by Faith
As we at Olive Branch Baptist Church prepare to reopen our sanctuary for in-person worship services, we want to invite you to join us on the first Sunday in April 2022 as we come together after two years of at home worship. We will continue to pursue our long-term vision as noted below.
A BEACON FOR THE WANDERER
A REFUGE FOR THE TROUBLED
A HOPE FOR POSTERITY

Current Operating Status: Open
As we reopen our doors, we will continue to offer the virtual experience to those who are unable to join us in person. We will provide new instructions on the virtual process as we will shift from telephone to streaming connections. Our Bible study efforts – Sunday School and Discipleship Classes will continue via telephone. As we stride forward into this updated approach to worship, we must continue to deal with the realities forced upon us, i.e., “social distancing, masks, ubiquitous sanitation procedures,” because they save lives and keep us at whatever health levels we have. The following practices will be in place beginning April 3, 2022. These basic procedures will be expanding and documented via our website as we proceed through the rest of this year.
The order of service, listed below, will be condensed with the goal of a one-hour service full of spirit and focused on the Word of God.
CALL TO WORSHIP PASTOR
INVOCATION PASTOR
SCRIPTURE PASTOR
CORPORATE PRAYER DEACON/DEACONNESS
MUSIC – TWO SELECTIONS CHOIR
SERMON PASTOR
INVITATION/HYMN PASTOR/CHOIR
BENEDICTION PASTOR
RECESSIONAL/HYMN USHERS/CHOIR
Finally, the year 2022 offers us another opportunity to build upon our solid base toward new and advanced achievements – achievements that will be the result of our diligent efforts to overcome the limitations forced upon us by the conditions of today. In doing so, we can become inspiring examples of faith in action that show that we are still creating evidence of spiritual growth as we become living “lights” shining on the hill of hope called Olive Branch Baptist Church.
Worship Services
We will have virtual worship services until the government provides clearance for large gatherings to resume. Our online services are posted for each Sunday, during our regular service times of 12:00 p.m./Noon, please tune in via one of the following platforms to join us in worship.
Communion
Communion will held virtually and can be viewed anytime for your participation.

- Access to the church will be through the front door into the vestibule only. The rear door will not be available for entry.
- All persons will sign in as they enter and will be asked to verify vaccination status.
- All persons entering the sanctuary will be required to wear masks.
- Persons who do not want to wear masks or who do not verify vaccination status will be given the option of returning home to watch the services on our website – or in special cases allowed to observe he service in the lower level separated from other worshippers.
- Ushers will escort each worshipper to a seat to insure that safe spacing is maintained.
- Worshippers who live in the same house will be allowed to sit together – all others must comply with safe distancing guidelines.
- Offering plates will be placed at the rear of the sanctuary on each side of the doors. Offering can be place there upon entering or as worshippers leave the sanctuary.
- As the service ends, the ushers will direct an orderly recessional – starting with the front pews and continuing until all pews have emptied and all worshippers have been escorted outside the church.
The order of service, listed below, will be condensed with the goal of a one-hour service full of spirit and focused on the Word of God.

WHAT WE’RE DOING
The safety of our members, staff and visitors is our utmost concern. We are taking the following precautions at OBBC facilities:
- Providing hand sanitizer. We have placed hand sanitizer stations at all building entrances. We also have wall-mounted stations throughout our buildings’ common areas as well as our classrooms and meeting spaces. Please use them when you are unable to wash your hands.
- Disinfecting our buildings. The surfaces within OBBC facilities, including our meeting rooms and classrooms, are cleaned and disinfected whenever used. For any public gatherings such as Bible study and our Sunday worship services (when allowed), all surfaces are cleaned both before and after the event.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
There are simple measures you can take to protect yourself and help us reduce the spread of Coronavirus in our community.
If you feel sick or are caring for someone who is sick:
- Stay home unless you are seeking medical treatment.
- Limit your participation in community activities.
- Plan to call into ministry meetings instead of attending them in person.
- Dispose of used tissues right away.
In general:
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth and others with unwashed hands.
- Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water as often as you can. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds.
- If you are not near a sink, use hand sanitizer. Sanitize all of the skin on your hands and rub them together until they feel dry. Refrain from shaking your hands to dry them.
- Engage in respiratory etiquette by coughing and sneezing into the bend of your elbow.
- Sanitize freshly touched surfaces in your home, school or office daily.
- Avoid coming in close contact with those who appear unwell.
Educate yourself:
- Learn the additional measures that high risk, vulnerable individuals should take.
- Stay up on current events.
